Hometown: Drayton Valley, AB

Undergraduate Degree: BSc Kinesiology at the University of Alberta

What made you pursue OT, and where do you see yourself going: I took INT D 410 in my undergrad and got to see the role Occupational Therapists can play on an interdisciplinary team! I loved the variety that Occupational Therapy could offer me and of course, I loved that I could help people engage in the things they love, want and need to do.  As for where I am going… I’m not quite sure yet, I am currently doing a Community Mental Health placement and am loving it, but I am also quite interested in working in orthopedics or individuals living with amputations.

What you enjoy most about the program: I really like the hands on aspect of this program. The placements are a great way to learn and actually be immersed in Occupational Therapy practice!

Fun piece of information about yourself: I really enjoy cooking! (mainly because I love eating…)

One piece of advice to first year students: Ask for help if you need it!
