What made you pursue OT, and where do you see yourself going: I volunteered at the Vancouver General Hospital and became familiar with what OTs do there and fell in love with the profession. I enjoy how much variety there is in our scope of practice and how holistic it is melding physical medicine and mental health. I eventually see myself either in Mental Health or Neuro/Trauma, but this may change by the end of the program.

What do you enjoy most about the program: All the lovely people I have met and how helpful everyone is. We all really work together as a collaborative team.

Fun piece of information about yourself: Whenever I feel stressed or overwhelmed, somehow making some homemade chai tea helps alleviate all my worries. It has also been a great study facilitator! (If anyone ever wants the recipe, feel free to ask :))

One piece of advice to first year students: I am going to steal what the second years told us on our first day of orientation… don’t believe the rumour mill, do everything at your own pace and in your own way. The time flies by so make sure that you cherish it and try to absorb as much as you can while still having fun!
