What made you pursue OT, and where do you see yourself going: I learned what OTs do while researching a presentation topic for a cognitive assessment course and the more I learned about OT, I decided to pursue it due to the variety and holistic approach it offers. There are many areas I am interested in, but ideally, I would like to work in a hospital setting in acute care or hand rehabilitation.

What you enjoy most about the program: I enjoy the supportive community that everyone in the class contributes to and that there is a general vibe of “we are all in this together”.

Fun piece of information about yourself: I speak Afrikaans and I love baking and cooking.

One piece of advice to first year students: Enjoy the learning process, be supportive to your classmates, and also know there are lots of support for you via your classmates, faculty members, and second-year mentors.
