What made you pursue OT, and where do you see yourself going: I have always had an internal desire to help others. Throughout my undergraduate degree I developed a love for rehabilitation and after doing a course on adaptive physical activity I realized that a career in OT was a perfect fit for me. Right now, I don’t have a clear direction of where I would like to go but I am interested in working with others to improve their self-worth.

What you enjoy most about the program: I enjoy how hands on our labs and classes are because it makes me more excited about all the opportunities that are available to OTs.

Fun piece of information about yourself: My parents are from Malaysia and growing up we did a lot of travelling around southeast Asia. From those experiences I have developed a keen interest in food and travel.

One piece of advice to first year students: Embrace new ideas and experiences, whether it be academically or in your personal life. Enjoy your time in the program and take this opportunity to grow, fall in love with the OT practice, but more importantly, learn more about yourself.
